What the day looks like

A simple guide to what happens from the moment you contact me, through the appointment, and afterwards.

Before the visit

You contact me directly.

When you're ready, you message or call. No hold music. No receptionist. No registration. Just me.

We talk about your pet, where you are, what is happening and what you would like. We agree a time that works for you, and I confirm the price before booking.

1 · I arrive

We take our time.

I come to your home at the agreed time. You do not have to sit in a waiting room or feel any pressure to hurry. I talk you through what will happen and answer any questions before we begin.

Your pet can stay wherever they are most comfortable — on their bed, the sofa, in the garden or in your arms.

2 · Sedation first

Your pet becomes deeply relaxed.

When you are ready, I give a gentle sedative and pain-relief medication under the skin. Over the next few minutes your pet becomes drowsy, deeply relaxed and unaware of what is happening.

You can stay beside them, stroke them and talk to them throughout. There is no need to restrain or move them unnecessarily.

3 · Saying goodbye

Only when you are ready.

Once your pet is fully relaxed and comfortable, I explain the final step. The euthanasia medication is then given gently. It takes only a few moments.

You can hold them, talk to them, play their favourite song or simply sit quietly together. There is no right way to say goodbye.

4 · Afterwards

You can take your time.

I stay with you afterwards and give you as much privacy and time as you need. There is no rushing you towards the door.

When you're ready, your pet is wrapped with care in a soft sheet, blanket or whatever you have chosen.

5 · Cremation, if you choose it

You choose what happens next.

You can choose your own crematorium, or I can help you arrange cremation or burial afterwards.

If you would rather not transport your pet yourself, I can collect them, provide temporary cold storage and transfer them to the crematorium. See the pricing page for the £70 collection, temporary cold storage and transfer fee and the available aftercare options.

There is no “perfect” way to do this.

Bring their favourite blanket. Give them a favourite treat. Have the whole family there, or keep the room quiet. This is your pet and your goodbye. I am there to guide you, not to dictate how it should look.

When you're ready, I'm here.

You can call or WhatsApp me directly. I'll answer your questions and help you decide what to do next.
